Anwer Khan Modern Medical College

Anwer Khan Modern Medical College is the private medical Hospital in Bangladesh. It was established in 2008 by a group of dedicated people called the founder members who were imbued with the ideals of providing quality medical education, research and services to people of this country at reasonable cost. The College and the Hospital are run by Bangladesh Medical Studies and Research Institute (BMSRI) which is a non political and non profitable organization. The members of the Institute are not entitled to any remuneration or dividends.

Courses

The college offers five years MBBS course and one year internship training in Anwer Khan Modern Medical College and Hospital as required by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council leading to MBBS degree from the University of Dhaka. The college has been permitted to operate by the Ministry of Health & Family welfare, Govt. of the peoples of Republic of Bangladesh and course approved by BM & DC and affiliated with the University of Dhaka. The academic session starts from January of each year or as suggested by the Government of Bangladesh.

The First Professional MBBS Course

The first professional MBBS course is spanned during the first one and half years (January to July of the next year) of the five year course. It is divided into three terms of equal duration (each extending 6 months). The subjects taught during this period are Human Anatomy (650 hours), Human Physiology (380 hours), and Medical Biochemistry (270 hours and community Medicine (70 hours). Forms of instructions include lecture, tutorial, demonstration, practical classes, seminars, symposiums, and field visits.

The Third Professional MBBS course

The third Professional MBBS course spans for one year after the completion of the Second Professional course. That is it extends upto three and half years of the five year course. The subjects taught during this period are Pathology (270 hours), Microbiology (220 hours) and Forensic Medicine (180 hours). Forms of instructions include lecture, tutorial, and demonstration, practical classes, item, and term final, formative assignment.

The Final Professional MBBS course

The final professiona MBBS course spans for one and half years after the completion of the Third Porfessinal course. That is it extends upto the end of the five year course. The subjects include Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology. Medicine includes lectures and tutorials for 252 hours and ward duties for 1248 hours (52 weeks *6 days*4 hours daily). Surgery includes lectures and tutorials for 347 hours and ward duties for 1248 hours (52 weeks *6 days*4 hours daily). Obstetrics & Gynecology includes lectures and tutorials for 114 hours and wad duties for 386 hours (total of 500 hours).

Campus

A beautiful arranged modern campus with well-equipped academic and hospital buildings is the beauty of the area. It is situated at Road 8, Dhanmondi, Dhaka 1205, at the heart of the capital market. The first building (F) consists of Principal office, college secretary and administration block 1 lecture room for 200 students with multimedia presentation facilities. Also a modern library with 5000 recent medical text books on different disciplines and internet facilities, computer room were available for students and academic staff of the college.
